I used to watch, out on the road for liver n onions, few served it.. Then I came across one place in the South Bay, it came with one part undercooked.. That did it, no more unless I was the cook..

Oysters, for years my wife couldn't handle them, her Mom used to do an oyster soup/stew, she hated it.. But we had gatherings out on the coast, sometimes abalone up around Salt Point, but other times we gad a small beach with BBQ pits on Tomales Bay.. Pick up a couple sacks on the way, maybe a bucket of shooters, and make a day of it... Heated to where they just open, add sauces, or just butter/garlic, great, and after she' tried those, she's hooked.. The shooters, various liquors are tasty with, Everclear, but stay away for the flames... Some great times, maybe 10 or 12 families, engineers, etc from our local thin film lab..

Weco,

I agree, a fresh batch of properly prepared liver is to die for, however most people, my wife included, considers liver to be uneatable no matter how it's prepared. And yes, fried oysters are another appreciated delicacy only this time my wife would eat them as well, just that we don't often think about or find fresh oysters this day and age.

Lima beans are something after about the second one, you could skip all the rest, even if it's just one of many vegetables found in a soup or something.
