Agreed, Huntsman, as I said months ago, is their best candidate. But he's too moderate, Mormon, no chance. Republicans are splintered. It really can't end up Newt (the little lizard) could it? Really, who's (left) still standing? Bachmann? I hope so. She makes Palin look positively brilliant.

By the way, Cain retiring begins the process of reduction out of which the winning Republican Tea Party candidate will emerge.

Romney is going to lose against whoever that person turns out to be. Gingrich's ego would sink his candidacy in any other field. I guess he'll wobble at some point. Looking at the sheer awfulness of the field, I haven't ruled out Michelle Bachmann because I think she may collect when Perry gives up, but she's not going to get any of Cain's voters.

Frankly, it's like trying to assess the odds in a three-legged horse race. It is unbelievable that they cannot find a candidate.
