You are completely deluded... With the Bell breakup, we all lost tons of folks at all levels, those of you in maintenance slots never recovered... WeCo was eventually spun off, we weren't locked into the wage freeze Johnson pulled, WeCo had, by Contract some good raises after that, plus negotiated more down the line as well as other benefits covering our travel and lodging, you never saw.. WeCo ended up way above Telco wage rates, or even our own Shop rates (they were IBEW).. WeCo was a manufacturer, made things, sold them, installed 'em, made stuff work, load tested, heat, volume tested, long before turning it over to the RBOC... And we did it all over the globe, not kickin' back at home every night.. Name one Union leader that's a multi millionaire.. They sure aren't getting there on the little dues our less than a thousand guys pay in, most Telco/at&t offices here are running dark, maybe a visit every few days.. Technology changed, what used to require daily tweaking goes months or years, WeCo built stuff to last, always has.. If you maintenance guys don't know what you are doing and break it, not our problem... Sounds more and more like you were in over your head, never saw the big picture... Keep in mind, every benefit you have is because the Union negotiated for it.. Our managers knew, understood it, because they came up the ranks... You misplaced the whole game... So sad, wrong again...
