Unless something further has occurred, I've only read that Fallon's drummer has apologized, saying: “The performance was a tongue-in-cheek and spur of the moment decision. The show was not aware of it and I feel bad if her feelings were hurt. That was not my intention.”
Sounds good, except that it WASN'T spur of the moment, and it obviously WAS his intent to offend her. Prior to the show, he'd tweeted “late night walkon song devotees: you love it when we snark: this next one takes the cake. ask around cause i aint tweeting title.”
And following the show, he retweeted a fan’s reaction: “perfect entry song for her.”
As for Jimmy Fallon's "apology" - I've only heard that Fallon won't comment beyond his own tweeted joke: “@Questlove is grounded.”
BTW, what do you mean that you don't 'get' the song? The song is called ”Lyin’ Ass B***h”. Lyrics later refer to the song's subject as a “slut trash can b***h.” There's not much there that anyone needs to 'get.' Adopt it for Hillary or Pelosi if you think it's an appropriate entry piece.
