Turkeys aren't that cheap here in VA. 55¢/lb seems to be the norm on a low-end, store-brand turkey, and that's the price WITH a club card and a $35 or $40 purchase.

It was only a few years ago that some stores had turkeys for FREE with a $25 purchase. Things have changed!

BTW, as long as we're discussing prices...

I went to a Walgreens in NYC on Saturday to pick up some snacks for the hotel room and busride home. I happened to notice that they had Banquet TV dinners... (SALISBURY STEAK)... for $6.00 apiece!

Holy toledo! I routinely buy them for 98¢ at Safeway and Giant, and sometimes still find them on sale for 78¢. But they're $6.00 apiece at the Walgreens on Time Square! Wow... Guess what I DIDN'T have for dinner???

We actually ate at Dave and Busters. The dinners weren't too bad, $18 or $19 apiece, I think, and they included $10 of "free" game play. Dave and Busters, for those of you unfamiliar with the chain, is essentially "Chuck E. Cheese" for teens and adults. It has a ton of video games, etc, much like Chuck E. Cheese, but with some games that are decidedly inappropriate for younger kids. And it sells mixed drinks and beer.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

then you get to the stores, YICKS. We have a store here where you can get the whole dinner for $19.99 when you spend $25 bucks is all. Stores are taking big hits on the birds, just to get folks in the door.....
