I think we all would love to have a CEO that would fire back at these folks. However, it has never been in the cards. Just one time it would be nice to hear a summation of all of the systems that IDCC has designed and created over the years to demonstrate their inventions. It has always burned me up to be labeled a patent troll when nothing could be farther from the truth. It burns me up that OEM's boast about implied licenses for the technology of contributors to the standards as they make money hand over fist while squeezing the smaller inventor into a duress royalty rate as opposed to a FRAND rate as they advertised to attract their prey. I believe it is time for the Inventor Associations to rise up and educate the public about these industry bullies. On the other hand, these bullies are big enough and greedy enough to include an inferior invention in their standards groups over a better invention that is owned by a mouthy member. This is why I believe IDCC has turned the other cheek over the years. Our day will come at some point over the next 13 months.
Great points Loop! The thing that's bothering me most about the whole DR thing(other than their slanted bs) is that with this self imposed silence, IDCC is in a sense continually allowing them to frame the argument for now. It feels almost like one political party continually has their say, yet the other remains silent! As unrealistic as it may be, theres a big part of me that wishes IDCC could come out swinging once in a while
