Thanks but don't bother. You want to moderate a board, go and start one.
We will lose posters. That's the way it goes. I started a board as a place to amuse and interest myself and my friends. Exclusion is part of the remit. It helps me avoid posts by folks who I believe spoil this space.
Folks who don't like that have plenty of other spaces to go to and I am content to pay the price of operating a backwater conversation. The number of banned posters is very small. I understand people like Hari make their own friends and develop their own loyalties and that we may lose them as a consequence of these things. That's a pity. But I am not going to make special rules to accommodate posters who think they should get a pass because someone they know has something sensible to say. Each poster is judged on their own merits. If a person is incapable of posting without insulting other posters or of inventing facts to suit them, I don't want to waste my time on them.
If there's also an unintended consequence of doing so, for instance due to offsite loyalties, so be it. I didn't make this board to seek a vast conversation with lots of people. I wanted to write down and read things that are interesting to me. And to avoid detritus which is available everywhere.
