COMMENTARY | One indication that the left has gone around the bend is when they announce that they are coming after the children. Two recent incidents, one involving Nancy Pelosi, the other Occupy Wall Street, suggest a play for the next generation.
Nancy Pelosi, the once and (she hopes) future Speaker of the House, was in the midst of complaining about being called a "princess" by Herman Cain when she threatened to do to the children what she helped to do for health care. The first order of business, should the Democrats take back the House, will be to institute national child care in the same manner as national health care. Pelosi seems to believe that this is an actual argument for voting for Democrats in House races rather than against.
Nastier was the assault on school children conducted by protesters of Occupy Wall Street. Small children were forced to run a gauntlet of screaming, kicking protesters to go to class at a lower Manhattan elementary school. According to Fox News, protesters were screaming, "Follow those kids!" The children were funneled to their school between barricades protected by the police.
