Thank you for the good wishes. And, no, we didn't see any protests.

For one thing, the movement was apparently pretty beaten up on Thursday - the day before our arrival. I heard that the turnout was very low afterward.

For another, we travelled by bus. My wife found a half-price offer: round trip tickets from DC to NYC for $30/person. You can't beat that! But it meant we were on foot and had to pretty much stick to the Times Square area.

I have some pics below. Unfortunately, my phone can't take photos at night - when the colors on Times Square were really amazing. It DOES resemble Las Vegas in many ways.
