Well, I think in times like these, the hegemony of the 1% is going to be challenged by the 99%. Hence, OWS.
There's an easy way for the 1% to give ground. And there's an ugly way. I hope they choose the former. But this is the kind of scenario in which revolutions occur. So they can obstruct their way to the latter scenario.
I'm not such a fan of revolutions. I think one does better via orderly transitions. But it is not smart policy to prevent change where change is seen as a necessity by the majority. The pressure merely builds and becomes more explosive.
Brings me back to my constitutional thesis.
