I erred. I try hard to view people as individuals - and I don't believe that ALL liberals have a contempt for religion. When I read the article, I found myself wondering what percentage of Republicans have no real religion. The article doesn't delve into that.

I base my assertion that MOST liberals have a contempt for religion on observation... watching them laugh that those who take religion seriously, defend their support for practices that their own purported religion condemns, etc.

You know. What you do.

I do however object to your contention that liberals have a contempt for religion. I don't play golf or drink coffee and I hold no ill will toward those who do. Just because someone does not participate in an activity does NOT mean that they hold those who do in contempt. That argument simply does NOT hold water, period!!!!
