Hi cat,

I could not care less about my victory. There's not much to be won here. But wouldn't it be awesome if you actually admitted that for the last three years you've been talking bollocks. And now you are reduced to saying "one day I may be right".

This is what is called stopped clock syndrome. Sure. One day inflation may be the issue. But right now, even some on the closed-minded right have begun to notice that we have had three years of a demand/deflation issue. These three historical years matter. Rather than some future in which inflation may or may not reappear. Certainly, your claim that QE would cause inflation was nonsense. Inflation remains low. Long-term interest rates remain low. Your hyper-inflation is an illusion.

Why not try to explain why it is the right wing theories you have espoused failed over the course of the last three years? Then maybe you will improve your scoring in future.

The question: what should you have been concerned about in 2008/9 has been answered. You got it wrong. If the Fed had followed your policies, we'd have seen a catastrophe. Luckily the Fed didn't follow your advice. Luckily, they saw that inflation wasn't the issue. Luckily your withering appraisal of Chairman Bernanke - who is an actual, sentient economist - turned out to be ridiculous.
