If VPC is going to use statistics, so can I.
From 2006 through 2010, there were a total of 70,975 homicides committed in the US.
Of those, 47,856 of those were committed with firearms of some type, which is 67.4266% of the total.
Since we are discussing legal concealed carry, I will assume we are discussing handguns. 34,544 homicides were committed with handguns - that's 48.6707% of the total number of homicides.
Now, VPC reports that 385 homicides were committed by concealed carry license holders between May 2007 and the present time, which comes to about 8 per month. They indicated that the real number is probably significantly higher because of the way they have to obtain their data (through news reports).
Let's estimate high here - if the real number was 20 per month, then from 2006 through 2010, the percentage of homicides committed by concealed carry license holders using handguns would be 0.0845%.
By comparison, from 2006 to 2010, 12.7862% of all homicides were committed with knives or other cutting instruments, and 4.2705% were committed with blunt objects. These are items that can be purchased without any background check or license at your local WalMart. Should they be outlawed?

What is the point of rules that are not enforced?
