Well, it seems this confirmation bias existed long before the MSM, Budweiser and directv, but not before the couch. So maybe the couch caused it.
It was apparently first mentioned by Thucydides. And then by lots of others over the ages - had a look at Wikipedia after reading the Frumpy Forum. So it is something inherent to ourselves rather than something caused by a wicked external influence.

Hi cactus, well their conditioning by the powers that be and MSM, have made folks passive, and are under the impression that things are fine, and if not, they will be takin care of. They refuse to look outside of the box. They are content with their direct TV, Soft plushy couch, and Budweiser beer. It don't get any better then that, Does it? LOL........
