I have to wonder what those words ***exactly*** mean.

Is LG considered licensed (in a very technical sense, they are)? If we have to hash out what the meaning of the word is, is, we really don't know what fitty percent "of all 3G handsets being delivered under license" means.

I guess I'm a wet blank of late...Best, Bob

"ended the quarter with approximately 50 percent of all 3G handsets being delivered under license from InterDigital"

That's an implied improvement from the previous statement that IDCC had "~ 50% plus of 3G market under license at year-end 2010".

With that 2010 "approximate 50%" number being broken down by IDCC as 6% RIM (who have seen a large market share decline since then) and 8% LG (who have not renewed and have been added to the ITC complaint)...

...it makes one wonder if Apple + HTC have grown their share to the point it covers the 10+% implied difference (with RIM, LG). Or if something else is in the mix.
