An extreme market failure on steroids.

Computers have accelerated & exasperated the problems.

Another nuance, credit cards, & the debt incurred with their abuse.

The 'Great Depression' lacked these 'accessories'...

We watch the global economy struggle with new problems every day, yet, we have these asinine republicans running for president.

Cain has a new weird ad out with a smoker asking to join them to take this country back.
And he is in first place in the new NY Times CBS poll!
heaven help us.

Perry, rekindles the Birther BS. & a flat tax he can't explain, it's his 'Hail Mary'.

Santorum, is policing bedrooms.

Mitt, is waiting to see which way the wind is blowing before he commits to anything.

Apparently 80% of republican voters have not committed to any candidate yet, according to reports.
Can you blame them? I don't.

Obama's odds are looking better & better.

The point is, this is basic macroeconomics. It was the economics learnt in the Great Depression. Yet we act as if this experience is irrelevant.

To say - well, wait until things normalise is to miss the point. The point is, we are dealing with the issues of an extreme market failure. Not of an economic hiccup - a typical recession.

So you do what needs to be done to help the patient recover. You don't diagnose a starving person with chicken pox. When you finally notice they don't have any spots and they don't have a temperature, you don't say - well, heck they may get chicken pox one day. You treat the deficiency which is in front of you. You supply them with the remedy known technically as food.

And you admit - thank goodness I didn't make that poor starving guy take anti-chicken pox pills. Otherwise, folks will properly say: that guy ain't no doctor.
