Clo,
If one had the money . . . and Certificates of Deposit
(CDs) paid enough . . one could 'ladder' them such
that every other month or so one would mature, one
could turn it to cash, take some out, buy another
one, and have FDIC insured income.

If DGP tried buying a long term CD (for a higher
rate) the rates being offered would tie his money
up . . . for however long the money was in the CD.

With rates as they are, it would NOT be worth it.

With the current investment climate . . with lousy
rates of return (due to the sucky economy) there
is not much else worth tying his money up in.

So . . as they say . . Cash is King.

(Acknowledge inflation and even that sucks.)

Zim.

DG, how does keeping your money in a savings account tie up your money?
I have easy access to mine, just make a tad more interest on it their rather then in my checking acct.
I can transfer from one to the other, online.
