re: "Meanwhile, CEO's ... still make their millions & often get huge bonuses."

I think you've misdirected your energies. All this frustration of yours is directed at a SMALL number of people and a relatively small amount of money.

Far bigger issues are being totally ignored.

Focus on that capital gains tax. A change there would make one hell of a difference. Vent your anger at politicians who don't have that on their plates. It's how you can tell that they are in bed with the thugs.

Level monster tariffs on imports. Yes, prices would leap, but so will employment figures. Jobs long lost would return to our country.

Stop accepting short-term bandaids and think long-term. That *IS* going to mean short-term pain - but you're going to have pain sooner or later anyway. We've got to bring industry back to the U.S. and keep it here. How do we do that?

Charity is not the answer, clo. Neither is blaming the rich. That's far too large of a class to be condemning. It's as bad as if I had actually said that the poor are all lazy. (Which, again, I have never said.)

Decomp,

"Now... you either disagree with me on that, or disagree with me about how many of the poor are poor due to laziness. Tell me which it is, and I can continue the discussion without further mischaracterization."

I don't have sympathy for lazy people. As you've said I agree, laziness is a choice.

Millions want to work, there are very few jobs.
They worked hard most of their lives & were content with supporting their families & going to the shore for a weeks vacation. Those days are gone for many.

Meanwhile, CEO's who continue to fire employees, especially bankers who also made horrible 'investments' that hurt the company & the country, still make their millions & often get huge bonuses.
This is where the anger & rage comes from for many of us.
