Exotic Animals Escape in Ohio
Police in Ohio have killed 30 exotic animals after 48 of the creatures—including lions, cheetahs, bears, and wolves—escaped from a private zoo. So far, there have been no injuries to the public, but four school districts canceled classes Wednesday as the remaining animals are hunted down. The owner of the animals, Terry Thompson, was found dead, having opened all the animals’ cages. While police haven’t said how he died, they did say they had to shoot several animals just to get to his body. Some other animals that he kept, like chimpanzees and orangutans, were still in their cages.
