Now I'm not suggesting that Mitt Romney is a follower of Ayn Rand, but on this morning's drive-time Thom Hartmann made the observation that most of the hero's in Ayn Rand's books, the ones who ignored what society thought of them or who claimed that they could succeed without the help of the government or other members of society, that these people always seemed to be have enjoyed inherited wealth. I guess it's easy to portray a character as being a 'superman' able to clearly see and do the things that he thinks should be done ignoring the wishes or opinions of society in general if you were born a member of the 1% elite.
