That's an unexpected idea! Vacancy open. Only the dead may apply.

I don't really see how the birth requirement is intended to work. Loyalties aren't born. They are made. Plenty of people who participate in US politics plainly have interests other than those of the US: the Israel lobby, for instance. Sometimes these prejudices are coincident. And sometimes they are not.

Re Gingrich. I hope you are right. That would make for entertainment.

Because of the the recent controversy I think rather than having been born in the U S to qualify as President you have to have been a President that died here.

So I think I would go with any of the first five, Lincoln, Reagan and possibly Kennedy. I am not sure where we should dig first.

Since that most likely won't happen, I will be voting for the Republican whoever he is.

Since I hope but don't expect Ron Paul will be the candidate I believe it or not, think that will end up being Gingrich. I am guessing VP candidate will be Rubio or Cain, possibly Paul Ryan with Allan West as a long shot.

I also think Hillary will be the opposing candidate, not Obama; so take all the above with the requisite grain of Salt.
