Hi alea,

There are many things on the phone that would make it junk with out it, The CPU, the Ram, the BIOS, the rich OS = Windows, Android, Apple IOS, the cellular communication module, SIM etc.

I don't see Wave as a threat to the MNO's in the mobile space any more than Wave is a threat to them in the PC space. Many laptops connect to the corporate server VIA the cellular networks (and of course via the Wired networks as well).

What am I missing??

4321,

I suspect the MNOs might make the point that the SIM IS the device.

The cell phone is a piece of junk without one.

So instead of thinking of the SIM as embedded in the cell phone, you might think of the cell phone as the hunk of stupid surrounding the device's identity.
