Today, I was on the verge of coming out in opposition to the 'Occupy' movement. Then this little article emerged... forcing me back into 'Continuing To Assess' mode.
Here's the thing: OWS's message is not clear, but its emphasis seems to be largely for socialism. But I'm delighted to see it FINALLY recognizing that politicians play a major role in economic corruption as well. The question remaining, though, is WHICH politicians/cronies will they blame? Just GWB? Or GWB *and* Obummer *and* most of Congress *and* Geithner *and* Bernanke????
I'll have to wait and see before I grant or withhold my support.
Web site notes global plans for ‘Occupy’ movement

MADRID — The Occupy Wall Street Movement is going global. The Website 15october.net says citizens from 951 cities in 82 countries will take to the streets on Saturday under the slogan, “UNITED FOR #GLOBALCHANGE.”
The Website says: ”From America to Asia, from Africa to Europe, people are rising up to claim their rights and demand a true democracy. Now it is time for all of us to join in a global non violent protest. The ruling powers work for the benefit of just a few, ignoring the will of the vast majority and the human and environmental price we all have to pay. This intolerable situation must end.”
The group goes on to say: “United in one voice, we will let politicians, and the financial elites they serve, know it is up to us, the people, to decide our future. We are not goods in the hands of politicians and bankers who do not represent us. On October 15th, we will meet on the streets to initiate the global change we want. We will peacefully demonstrate, talk and organize until we make it happen. It’s time for us to unite. It’s time for them to listen.”
The website has a map that lists all the activities and demonstrations being planned in each country. It also has a facebook page, hooked up to Democracia real YA, which is the original site that was backing the protests in Madrid last spring in the city center. A march being planned in Madrid will end at Sol, which is the heart of the city and the site of protests earlier this year.
