Yes, people are forgetting about the big picture in the evaluation of IDCC. It is not found in a single patent, a group of patents, a single MVP or a group of MVP's. The real value of IDCC is 30 years of serious trial and error in the evolution of wireless technology and at least 10 more years of foresight in the technologies that will be necessary to support a staggering number of life changing products that will dictate the future.

Any new entrant to the wireless manufacturing sector can literally save 20% of its product price by acquiring IDCC because they can cross license with the existing competition rather than pay the royalties associated with unilateral licensing. This is huge because the impediments to competing with the older, established OEM's in the market place are erased. The new entrant can produce and sell its products with the same or better margins. Further, they will immediately occupy a spot at the standards body tables insuring a clear path of knowledge in their planning departments for continued growth in product life cycles as each new wireless generation is born. The trust between product visionaries and wireless system visionaries is priceless at this juncture of the world industrial revolution.

If IDCC is being marketed based on the big picture versus buckets of issued and pending patents, a value acceptable to the long term believers should easily be reached. If not, the worst case scenario is that the royalty value has increased significantly during this short period of sector soul searching and I can live with that as they continue to pursue a licensing model despite knowing that I will have a few more seasons of two-a-days before I can hang up my cleats.
