it would be silly for one of the big boys to let idc go "for a song"....and then have to turn around and defend themselves against a legal onslaught.....i guess companies should be prepared to pay the price one way or the other

I believe that each primary bidder (Apple, Google, Samsung, etc), whoever is leading each consortium, has two essential figures in mind: 1) the assessment of IDCCs entire market value which includes current recurring revenue, future prospective revenue, engineering staff, and the entire IP portfolio (existing & pending)

2)perhaps more importantly, the assessment of - at what price does one of the primary bidders let its competitor buy IDCC. This is the key assessment that a primary bidder has to make - to weigh the current and future benefit and current cost of buying IDCC now, compared to the current and future cost of not buying IDCC and letting the competitor (or someone else) have IDCC.
