A friend of my wife's on some internet forum just got scammed buying a batch of "German Silver" bars. He paid somewhat more than spot (over $30 an ounce), received them, then learned that German Silver is not silver! It's a combination of Nickel, Copper and Zinc. *NO* silver!!! They aren't even German!

ROTFLMAO! How's that for a hoot??? Buyer beware, right???~!

I'm seeing other "German Silver" auctions underway right now.

Get a load of this one, on ebay right now. At $5.00 apiece, and 29 grams per ounce (which I realize isn't right since these are TROY ounces and grams), that would be $145.00/ounce.

The spot price on silver is today $32.65/ounce.
