I think I heard analysts say that Cain's 9-9-9 plan would collect $2 trillion, whereas our current taxes bring in $2.2 trillion. So one could argue that the answer is yes, it's better.

But I'd say no. The taxes wouldn't REMAIN at 9 percent, after all. And the plan introduces an entirely NEW tax, this National Sales Tax. I'd be good with that if it meant eliminating one of the others, but it doesn't. As we've all seen (and as liberals deny), new taxes only tend to increase.

So that's my problem with Cain's plan. It lowers taxes TEMPORARILY and introduces yet another federal tax. It is trouble.
