re: "Is that really any better than what we got now?"

I think I heard analysts say that Cain's 9-9-9 plan would collect $2 trillion, whereas our current taxes bring in $2.2 trillion. So one could argue that the answer is yes, it's better.

But I'd say no. The taxes wouldn't REMAIN at 9 percent, after all. And the plan introduces an entirely NEW tax, this National Sales Tax. I'd be good with that if it meant eliminating one of the others, but it doesn't. As we've all seen (and as liberals deny), new taxes only tend to increase.

So that's my problem with Cain's plan. It lowers taxes TEMPORARILY and introduces yet another federal tax. It is trouble.

Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months

A word about Cain's 9 9 9 plan.

a 9% tax on your money when ya make it.
a 9% tax on your money when you spend it.
a 9% tax hidden in the price of whatever you buy.

Is that really any better than what we got now?
