Yet there's a certain nastiness of tone. And the tag-team condescension. I hate it. Sometimes you just want to get their back up because they are so smug. Hey, I own shares too but I don't need to hear the relentless happy talk.

When an opponent in an argument is reduced to assertions and insults, they have no more facts to work with and no more logic to produce.

This is the point to stop arguing. It does not prove you are right or that they are wrong. It shows your opponent has nothing more to contribute and that there is no more value to be drawn from them on that subject.
