We have heard nothing from InterDigital's management saying that the process has stopped, ergo the process continues. That is an undeniable fact.
Furthermore, management has said very little as any and every corporate management team has done when involved in a similar process. Management would be obligated to state that the process was off as soon as it is. Just as they were obligated to state that it has begun. They have not.
The only "doubt" entering this process is from those, personally or flamed by message board posters, traders and paid media sources projecting short-term macroeconomic fears into this process.
Because Greece is an economic shit-hole and unemployment is over 9% and how one feels about the two and countless other issue in the macroeconomic universe has absolutely nothing to do with this process. Barclays, Evercore, InterDigital and those bidding are all operating in a bubble. Those bidding expect and will be selling copious amounts of devices that will use InterDigitals patents even if the Red Horse appears and starts grazing in curds and whey.
To say that the bids are not where they are supposed to be is correct because the sale is not final. Once a sale happens we will get the final sale price and share price. Because the modern day alchemists or the financial rabbi's who insist that numbers within the torah predict the apocalypse, or commonly known as chartists and algo traders respectively are defying logic and willing the stock to fill factitious gaps are currently driving the price. Meaning the reality of the situation is not moving the stock price, if so we would have already heard from management. We have not.
There is a "patent war" going on. These parties are not all in cahoots trying to keep a lid on the sale price and bids. This is not Berlin where two waring parties are going to split the difference and equitably draw a line and share the patents equitably. This is about survival and killing your enemy. I know of no other patent portfolio that is on the market comparable to InterDigitals or potentially so without having the courts determine whether monopoly's have been formed.
Again, the process continues, because management has said it has not stopped.
