... Is a waste of time. And my opinion only unnecessarily adds to the fear and uncertainty.

The two "auctions" InterDigital's and Nortel's underlying situations are vastly different with regards to their timeline. In it's simplest form, Nortel was a bankrupt corporation that required the approval of Canadian and American bankruptcy courts as to their timeline and delays. The Nortel auction had the spectre of lawsuits from retirees to former suppliers who were publicly commenting on the possibility of suing if their demands were not satisfactorily met. Combine that with the number of lawyers, accountants and consultants who were billing at hourly rates and not pushing the process because of the excuses mentioned earlier and a Nortel management team that did not exist (in the fiduciary responsibility role to shareholders kind of way). It's obvious why the Nortel auction took much, much longer. Not just the final auction, but all of the Nortel auctions. In it's simplest form, the courts were involved in the Nortel auction ... in the Interdigital "auction" they are not. And any InterDigital shareholder can confirm that nothing is completed quickly when the courts are involved.
