Cactus Flower,

I wrote this a few years ago.
and I play an armchair psychologist from time to time ;))
Today at the gym, a lovely instructor shared it was her 37th birthday, & she hated even saying the number, since its going up.
I suggested she not allow ANY number to control her happiness, age, wages, weight etc...
Live in the day & enjoy the journey.
She could see the logic.

'Hope' offers a reason to face the future~
even if the past has caused pain worth the effort of trying to forget~

Without hope few would be willing to risk & suffer in order to get to the other side~

'Hope' offers us a sacred place~
that can offer a respite & become a state of grace~

is an odd thing.

There clearly are certain people who prefer to see a world free of obstacles. And others, like me, who want to see the image, warts and all. I suppose the flip side is also true, with relentless pessimism also widespread.

It is clear which is the popular view, but not so clear that the warty view is less correct.

Wonder why it is that certain kinds of optimism are more relentless than others.

If I was an armchair psychologist ... well, I'm not so I won't go there.
