It doesn't. I was saying that you are too worried about bad guys WHO MIGHT BE INNOCENT (a rare event), and you show no concern at all about the (far more frequent) occurrence where bad guys get relesed from jail and then murder people.
It's a numbers thing. Innocent people serve time or get executed. That's bound to happen in our imperfect judicial system - that doesn't even use professional jurors. If you want to fix something, fix THAT.
It's easy to conclude that we are too quick to convict.
However, it's much more common for innocent people to be victimized by our RELEASE system. We let felons out of prison, at which point they murder and rob and rape.
THOSE victims are a far bigger concern to me than the few who are improperly convicted. I bet their numbers are a hundred times as great.
