Troy Davis had 7 of the 9 witnesses recant, #8 is also the accused.
...there weren't 9 witnesses. There were 34. He shot the cop in a burger king parking lot on a busy night. Of the seven who allegedly recanted their testimony one of em was Troy Davis's girlfriend who went to the burger king with him. In her recant, she changed minor details, but still said that Troy Davis was the shooter. Five of the other recanters were gave minor changes to their testimony which in no way changed the incriminating part of their testimony. The two remaining were offered a chance to testify before the court in an evidenciary rehearing and the defense declined to put them on the stand.
The only thing the prosecution didn't have was a video of the shooting.
