I think the div would be taxed as ordinary income. The buy out would be taxed at 15% if you held the stock longer then 12 mos.

I got ya... but that tax rate is low or non-existent right now isn't it? Did congress re-instate that?

I see that it would also lower the per share buyout amount which would effect options.

As for me, all of my shares are in iras, except a few hundred in a custodial account for my son, so the tax situation doesn't really matter.
