Well, what you have written here may be just the reason the Middle East boil continues to fester.

It's the chain we all know. US domestic politics conflicts with international wants. The US is perceived by everyone to be complicit in the Palestinian tragedy. In turn, this enrages other members of the umma, who cannot influence what happens in their own neighbourhood. Powerless people with a grievance, no outlet and who see no prospect of progress by legitimate means find a way to communicate violently.

I totally agree with you.

Ed Koch, Democrat & past NYC mayor used Obama's stance with Israel as his reason to support the republican that won Anthony Weiner's seat last week. That district has a strong conservative Jewish community. Prior it was held by a democrat since 1920!
Koch used it as a red flag & warned Obama he would do the same for his presidential election.

Koch, the squeaky wheel was noticed:
Koch received an unexpected invitation to a gathering of dignitaries the American President typically hosts during his New York visit.
