I don't agree with the Drudge headline. It is phrased as if Palin is the proactive one, actively "pulling" herself up to Obummer's level. Not true! Poll after poll keeps telling us that Obummer is the one taking the action, actively "collapsing" to within 5 points of Palin.
Yep. Mainstream America views him as THAT inept.
But this board's liberals are too far to the left to understand mainstream America anymore.
Good article. It confirms what I've been saying for a long time - that Obummer will lose next year "to any Republican." The situation is every bit as hopeless for the 2012 Democrats as it was for the 2008 Republicans.
What the Democrats need to fear is Obummer's inverted coattails. Of the 33 Senatorial seats up for grabs, 21 are held by Democrats, and two more by independents who regularly caucus with the Democrats. That's 23 seats for the left, and only 10 for the right, in an election that will be a landslide victory for the Republican presidential nominee - almost regardless of who it is.
If Obummer stays in the race, I expect the Republicans to carry 20 of the 33.
As someone noted the other day, it's time for you folks to panic.

WASHINGTON -- Look out President Barack Obama. Even Sarah Palin's gaining on you.
A new McClatchy-Marist poll finds that Obama looks increasingly vulnerable in next year's election, with a majority of voters believing he'll lose to any Republican, a solid plurality saying they'll definitely vote against him and most potential Republican challengers gaining on him.
Even in potential matchups where he leads, Obama in most cases has lost ground to the Republican.
