Hi Cactus Flower,

"He needs to have people see he means business."

Its not in his DNA.
He's not a fighter & the blush is off the rose.

His only path to reelection is to run against the policies offered by the GOP.

I won't vote "for" Obama this time, I will vote against the GOP policies.
Obama is the lesser of evils. But I have NO enthusiasm, that could change is Perry was the candidate...
That would fire me up to get out the vote(s) for Obama! clo

I won't go that far. But the Democrats would need to start thinking strategically and pragmatically.

If they simply leave the GoP to sew its weeds re regulations, taxes and suchlike, then there will be few votes to harvest.

Obama needs to state what he believes in, and then to fight for it - not just in a cosmetic way. He needs to have people see he means business. At the minute that is not the case - his residual strength mostly derives from the fact that the GoP alternative is worse. But he has some time to change the perception that he is good and kind and does no one any good.
