My friend at the CIA (retired) and his wife were invited to a private showing of this KH-9 satellite before it went on public display. He worked on the project when he was still in the Army (Signal Corp) while on temporary assignment to the Air Force back in the early 80's. It was this work that led to him being recruited by the CIA where he worked in their technology directorate (except for a couple of years at the NSA) until he retired 3 years ago as Deputy Director.

He said that it would eventually be put on permanent display at the Air Force Museum at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio.
