When I visited my new infant great nephew this week in the hospital, I noticed a thingy on his ankle. Its an alarm that would go off if he left certain areas. His parents also have a special bracelet for identification.

When our granddaughter was in the hospital this was the same exact procedure (security guards, scanning of your drivers license, photos taken for visitor passes, etc.) whenever we went to visit. Granted, once we were in the system all we had to show was our DL when we checked in again and they would print a new DATED visitor pass for us, but we still had to get past the armed security guards.
