The long court battles from East Texas to Delaware over the past decades support the following stmt:
"A patent is really just a right to sue another party for infringement," notes Karl Ulrich, a professor of operations and information management at Wharton. "Often, an infringement suit legitimizes what is essentially bullying of a poor company by a rich company. In these cases, the party with the deeper pockets can intimidate the other into licensing a patent, or into ceasing sales of the allegedly infringing product."

Hats off to IDCC mgmt for not acquiescing to these foreign bullies. Now for the justice and rewards for soldiering on.
Gotta love this new world order in technology and hopeful it can pull our economy back up by its' bootstraps, by making information available to all everywhere, whenever via the smart phone/tablet as well as the old school desktop/laptop. Can Google keep it together, or will the current wiz kids begin to stumble? WinTel PCs used to dominate; HP/Gateway are exiting the PC market; IBM has thrown in the towel years ago. Will MS and Intel re-emerge and find a foothold in the mobile computing environment?

Lacking in some direction
Althea told me upon scrutiny
my back might need protection "
