You want to believe there is a Chip War taking place, ARM designed processors and Intel.

The point is the devices running whatever chip processor all need to be able to run securely to enable E-Payment and distribute content (with strong DRM), PKI certificates and all the rest.

Intel Vpro and Arm TrustZone are building in TPM's/MTM's/Trusted Execution environments/Secure Elements to enable those security functions.

We know Wave's products work in the Intel x86 environment (TPM/SED's) and we are awaiting Wave's plans to enter the mobile space dominated by Arm designed processors.

It helps to read the GlobalPlatform's intentions on executing the grand plan.

The sad thing is, it's taking so long we may all be dead before we see the "Vision" all working.

Hi D&O,

I think you were scooped by orda.

Personally not sure how/if this fits together with the work of TCG.

If it doesn't and Intel is adopting a 1990s style proprietary approach, then I guess Intel is at odds with everyone else in the ecosystem - which is almost everyone in the computing space. Will Cisco submit to Intel control? Will ARM? Will Nokia? Will Dell? Will MS? The reason TCG was set up and RAND licensing was developed was due to the conflicting mass of interests and ownership rights in this space.

If it is another tool in the chain that may need central enterprise management, then that is good for Wave.

ARM is oozing into the PC space. I think Intel is scared of them.
