Hi 4321,
The consistency of failure to gain traction on the demand side is more than one would expect over a decade with the support they have had. The mismatch between the supply side successes and the demand side failure is pronounced. They can persuade a distribution partner to pay them $5m/quarter to embed their software, they can help deliver a secure hardware architecture across the entire chip and hard drive industries and yet they can hardly buy a corporate client. Even their technology partners fail to use their products.
This is the mystery of Wave.
I'm more-or-less at a loss to explain it, although I have tried, endlessly. I wonder why I should be more hopeful looking forwards. I can't provide a good reason to do so. More products. More opportunities. We can keep lining them up, but where are the buyers? My target of four major deals as a minimum for 2011 was fairly humble. Now it looks like a mountain. Even incremental growth isn't obvious to me.
So...
Where's the catalyst? PWC is out there pounding the pavement. NSA has arranged a conference to seed the market. Wave has increased its sales staff significantly. But there's almost nothing to show for it.
It looks like the world is set up for some event to happen which will bring the market into motion. But if that were the case, it would not be a secret and Wave's stock price would be stratospheric. It's quite baffling.
