i think this time around it is tied up w/ the massive options position...plus many shorts of the "automatic" variety....its almost as if the trading has a life of its own ,,,,and the auction is occurring on a separate track....if there is a buyout the shorts will be covered during the closing period of the buyout...at or near the final bid price....and then it will be over!!! h48, I am surprised at the resurgence of the short interest as well. Maybe teecee or somebody can explain it better, but if there ever was such a thing as a short squeeze one would think that a leak of a bid around a buck twenty would start one helluva short squeeze in IDCC.

I believe many of the the shorts are somehow hedged with options, but I can't explain the mechanism of such. Also, I wouldn't doubt that many of them are covered shorts purpetrated by some of our institutional "friends"... like I said maybe somebody else can explain it better.
