Bulldzer..there's a guy on IV (Berkstump or something close) that keeps saying the shorts are hedged with calls and aren't one bit at risk if the stock spikes, in fact they'll come out ahead either way....or something to that effect...how thats possible is way beyond my option understanding and he speaks in such cryptic tones that I usually have a hard time understanding him...I cant imagine they wouldn't protect themselves somehow, so maybe he's right?

h48, I am surprised at the resurgence of the short interest as well. Maybe teecee or somebody can explain it better, but if there ever was such a thing as a short squeeze one would think that a leak of a bid around a buck twenty would start one helluva short squeeze in IDCC.

I believe many of the the shorts are somehow hedged with options, but I can't explain the mechanism of such. Also, I wouldn't doubt that many of them are covered shorts purpetrated by some of our institutional "friends"... like I said maybe somebody else can explain it better.
