In any case, I think it is silly to guess where gold wil be and when. Why not just focus on the driver for gold and say how much value the dollar will likely lose over the next few years?

My guess is 20 percent. And because the dollar is a far bigger market than gold, a 20 percent dip in the dollar could easily fuel a threefold hike in the price of gold.

Hm. So I just invalidated my whole argument. I guess I'm predicting $6,000 gold in the next few years.
