I am like you with respect to doing everything I can on my own car's maintenance. Belts, hoses, fluids, brakes, spark plugs and wires.
Yes sir, no sense paying someone to do what you can do for yourself! And I thought I was the last of the breed of do it yourselfers! Ha!!!!
Heck, I even tear down kitchen cabinets and bathrooms and remodel and do the plumbing and electrical work.
It is fun for me actually. I remodeled my wife's kitchen about two years ago for her. Added a dishwasher in a new location and changed out 16 cabinets while adding new solid granite countertops. The granite was the only thing I did not do myself.
Turned out great! OH, I had to lay down a new floor while doing all that so I chose a laminate flooring and installed it in about two hours time.
Congrats on being a do it yourselfer! A dieing breed.
