kathy,
So even though you were happy with your surgery and its reults with the Cincy Hospital, would you recommend the Cleveland Clinic? My brother needs serious help. Scripps in CA knew of his condition, implanted a pacemaker, but it is not enough. I am thinking of calling the Cleveland Clinic and picking their brains.

Absolutely would recommend the Cleveland Clinic. ALso, do not forget the Mayo Clinic whose main medical center is in Rochester Minnesota.

Two of the very finest and premier medical places worldwide. Johns Hopkins is another one I am aware of.

NO, I did not encounter sundowning or ICU psychosis.

My recovery time has been rather fast as I am reasonably strong and in decent physical shape for a guy my age. Probably something to do with my never stopping playing sports except to have a "tour" of a little place called Vietnam.
I am an avid golfer with a ten handicap. I still play some class C mens softball, well, probably not anymore, but will continue with the golf when I have time.

I would definitely give Cleveland and Mayo clinic some serious consideration if there is a serious condition.

The best,

micro...

I went back today for a few hours. Limited time and duties. Doc says to go at this SLOWLY and since its my heart and I only have one, he has my full and undivided attention! lol!!!

micro, did you experience "sundowning" and/or "ICU psychosis? It sounds as though my Mom went through a little bit more (not to diminish what you went through), as she did not even go to "step-down" for 8 or 9 days.

No, I didn't go to the Cleveland clinic, although they are a premier place for sure. I went to one of the best heart hospitals in Cincy, but I did not go there for that reason. That was above and beyond what procedure was to be performed and so a decision was made by my mrs. while I was on the table out cold and oblivious to anything. I have had a running battle with a leaking valve and multiple tears over some few years and they were going to go repair the latest tear which was leaking blood into my body.

So, when I came to in recovery, I was informed I had a new artificial valve.

Was it a pig's valve? Don't answer if this is uncomfortable for you. (ohgod, what an operation!)

I do hope you guys finally resolve the homeless state you are in. Please forgive my faulty memory as it isn't as sharp as it once was. I'm thinking age might have something to do with that. lol!!!!!!

We are renting a lovely house in NV for the time being. I blame my faulty memory on medications. Nah, age has nothing to do with it. Age is not a gauge, always remember that!

I am very glad to see your presence and to know that you are still with us here at Rant2 with king froggy!

I am with my favorite people here! BTW, most people avoid me in real life. I'M KIDDING!!

YOU TAKE CARE, TOO, MICRO!

kathy
