...but, when you finished high school, I presume you could read and write and that you actually earned the scholarship instead of being given a "preference" in order to satisfy some artificial and arbitrary goals.

...as far as the student loans go, that's the first thing I would eliminate. People who work a part time or full time job and go to college at the same time don't have time to protest and raise hell. The ones going to college on someone else's dime generally are a waste of skin and air not to mention a seat in the classroom.

But I could never have earned the living that I do without having been educated 9 years in a public school system (my first 3 years was in a parochial school), 4 years at a state university, covered by a state provided 4-year scholarship and national student defense loans (which were all paid back + interest). Yes. I've made it on my own, but not without the benefits of living in a society where certain aspects of if were covered by taxpayer programs and where I and my family have benefited from these and other taxpayer-supported programs and infrastructure.
