ribit,

Those were the school library taxes, $6100.00, that included a STAR refund of $1200.00, otherwise would have been $7,300! Property taxes due in January.

I live in a modest high ranch, 4 bedroom, 2 baths, about 1300 sq feet, on a little more than 1/2 acre.
We bought it in 1967 before it was built.
Back then taxes were around 600.00-800.00.

Remember the number I gave you $11064 per student, my friend reminded me that was just the local cost, didn't include federal.
The Mahopac Central School District spends $18,772 per pupil in current expenditures. The district spends 70% on instruction, 29% on support services, 1% on other elementary and secondary expenditures.

I'm considering passing the hat at meetings I attend ;))
Like I said, keep your eye open for a cozy home nearby. Bet Mz ribit & I would get along just fine ;))
I REFUSE to go to Texas! I don't care HOW cheap it is... clo
